Job Description

Hero Collective is looking for a VP Social Media Strategy Director with experience working within advertising, marketing or multicultural creative agencies to join our team. The VP Social Media Strategy Director will be responsible for multiple lines of business and you will be empowered to oversee a team of strategists and coordinators to deliver strategic, comprehensive work.


The ideal candidate is a seasoned strategist, storyteller, campaign planner, and social media enthusiast who is energized by understanding and connecting brands to their customers through channels like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest, Twitter and the like.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the direction of connected social media projects from concept through completion, on schedule, on budget and meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Work directly with clients and cross-functional teams to lead strategic planning and develop briefs that will lead to business-building connections strategies and programs
  • Develop social media initiatives, pitch social media opportunities and act as point of contact for clients
  • Identify the optimal platforms for campaign executions, ensure all content is relevant to the target audience and meets client objectives
  • Be a seasoned presenter who knows how to own a room and energize client teams
  • Manage a team of social strategists and social campaign creators, ensure programs and deliverables are consistent and connected across accounts
  • Help lead business development (organic & net new pitches) in coordination with our growth team.


Requirements

  • 10+ years experience, primarily in social strategy roles
  • Extensive experience developing and executing multi-platform paid, owned and earned social media programs with advanced knowledge of social media trends and technology on behalf of a client or corporation at scale
  • Strategic thought leader ability to use consumer insights data, platform performance and key social media trends to inform the development of strategies and plans
  • Hands-on team manager and mentor with the ability to manage direct-reports and cross-functional teams across multiple clients
  • In-depth understanding of strategic social planning, community management, advocacy, influencer outreach, channels, publishing and creative best practices specific to social media
  • Familiarity with social and media analytics, insights and reporting for program optimization
  • Established strategic relationships with social marketing platforms and vendors; serve as subject-matter expert of social and paid media landscape
  • Expert level attention to detail, as well as strong organizational and communication skills needed to maintain brand integrity and dialogue with a broad user base
  • Socially active with a solid understanding of social media and the dynamics of community interaction
