We are seeking an experienced social media marketing professional who is passionate about developing the eBay brand through our social channels and driving outstanding creative that gets people talking. Working with internal teams and our new social media agency, the successful candidate will lead our organic and paid activity to drive love for our brand.

With a mix of agency and client side experience, you will be customer-obsessed with the goal of making eBay UK the best social media brand in the world, yes we really mean it. The. Whole. World.

About the team

This role sits in the eBay UK Brand Marketing team, responsible for offsite marketing that ensures the customer is always front of mind.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our social agency to implement the overarching social media strategy with actionable plans with the aim of growing reach, awareness and engagement
  • Keep a holistic view of all social activity across Paid and Organic to ensure we show up consistently and make an impact.
  • Manage and build out the cultural content calendar unifying our Owned, Earned and Paid plans. Oversee development of editorial strategy, ensuring cohesion across the content calendar connecting the dots between GTM moments, influencer marketing, BAU content, cultural moments and community management
  • Create opportunities to communicate with audiences in a compelling, engaging and helpful way that is mapped to audience building KPIs.
  • Lead the implementation of our social creative strategy ensuring consistency and quality in all output.
  • Partner with our social agency to identify opportunities to grow our social media presence.
  • Develop campaign objectives, ensuring campaigns tie back to business goals and brand metrics and to help build our brand and grow our community
  • Set measurable goals for campaigns, measuring and showing Return on Investment (ROI)
  • Dive deep into social media performance metrics and deliver data-driven recommendations for new innovation and creative strategies
  • Collaborate with and gather inputs from internal partners across marketing, PR, Trading, etc. to inform creative briefs for internal and agency partners

Experience

  • Extensive experience in social media marketing, preferably across agency and client side
  • Proven ability to drive creativity
  • Extensive experience managing Social Channel strategy and implementation
  • Experience with social media engagement strategies, tactics, execution essential
  • Experience running large social media marketing campaigns (paid and organic)
  • Preferable to have management experience
  • Good understanding of brand governance
  • A user of eBay - a standout bueyer and seller
