The role You will be joining one of the UK's leading independent development and built asset consultancies, working in their sustainability division as part of their London provision. This is a business developed on the idea of consistently improving building performance, through design, quality, energy efficiency and sustainability, with an ethos of collaboration, original thinking and inspiring confidence in their employees. As a senior sustainability consultant, you will be joining a growing division within an established multidisciplinary team of talented property professionals. Your key roles within the sustainability team will be to work with key clients to understand their energy performance and net zero carbon needs, providing advice, highlighting new research, opportunities and events adding value to the service provision. You will act as sustainability lead within project teams, ensuring best practice in relations to energy and sustainability, promoting innovation in a range of environments including site visits, workshops, meetings, and problem-solving sessions. Within your role as Senior Sustainability Consultant you will cover the following: Managing energy performance certification projects through survey and assessments relating to EPC, MEES, DEC and ESOS Creating and update building simulations models through assessment of building survey evidence using IES VE software Undertaking dynamic simulation modelling to evaluate energy use for environmental assessment requirements such as LZC, TM54 and TM52 Performing appraisals of existing buildings and new developments as part of technical due diligence for investors Assisting in developing the knowledge, skills and understanding other members of the Engineering and Sustainability team in the principles of Energy and Carbon, through coaching, workshops and exposure through practice Providing requirements to contractors in relation to energy and sustainability during tender process Preparing case studies, award submission content and blogs The rewards Understanding the value of their employees is an area of utmost importance to the business, therefore if you are successful in your application for the role of Senior Sustainability Consultant you will be rewarded with the following benefits: You will receive an annual salary of £60-70k with some room for manoeuvre for exceptional candidates A discretionary bonus scheme, paid annually will be provided, although there is no fixed rate, previous bonuses paid have been upwards of 15% annual salary mobile phone & laptop, Private Health Care (after 12 months) Personal Accident cover & Life Assurance, 25 days' holiday with one day a year charity leave Cycle to work scheme interest free season ticket loan company pension scheme on completion of probationary period. The requirements To be considered for the role of Senior Sustainability Consultant, you will need to meet specific criteria as follows: A minimum of 5 years' experience working as an energy/sustainability/carbon professional within a consultancy environment A degree level qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering, environmental engineering, sustainable design and construction, or similar will be essential, with an ideal candidate holding an additional MSc in sustainability or a similar subject Hands-on experience of delivering complex projects within the built environment with specific experience relating to energy efficiency and sustainability Ability to assess technical data and architectural drawings.
