Senior Press and Public Relations Manager

Our client is an award-winning financial services organisation, producing products and services to help modern families thrive. They are looking for a creative person with solid media relations experience, used to working to challenging deadlines and handling heavyweight journalists. A strong, ambitious writer who is highly organised and hungry for profile opportunities.


  • Strategic and creative support to Senior External Relations Manager.
  • Seek opportunities for and support with writing thought leadership articles and blogs, media comment, quotes, responses to media enquiries, lines to take, creative content and press releases.
  • Support external PR to build reputation with national, local and specialist media.
  • Horizon scanning for media opportunities, identifying news-jack opportunities.
  • Support with identifying, interviewing and writing case studies.
  • Where necessary provide strategic advice to CEO and the executive team on potential reputational risks. Develop effective counter strategies and messaging.
  • Support media relations during a crisis, by providing expert advice to the CEO and executive team as required.
  • Work across the group with senior managers and executives to ensure that the communications strategy and activities support business objectives.
  • Ensure alignment of all communications with brand values and messaging.
  • Establish and build profitable strategic communications partnerships with key stakeholders and external influencers to maximise reputation, both on and offline
  • Media relations activity to support marketing campaigns, events and opportunities to talk about the brand. This will include helping the digital team to input and inform online and social media content.
  • Undertake external research using a research agency.
  • Selling into the media.
  • Press office cover where required.
  • Support the monitoring, collation and evaluation of media coverage.
  • Provide administrative support and control around media relations budget.


  • 5 or more years solid press office and PR experience.
  • Degree level educated
  • Ability to write compelling, accurate copy.
