Position Purpose:

As a member of the Stericycle Marketing and Strategy department, the Public Relations and Corporate Communications Manager will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the marketing team by planning, tracking, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of assigned programs associated with managing all aspects of our public-facing brand.

As a key member of the Marketing Communications team, this role will be managing Public Relation (PR) and Corporate Communication efforts and will be accountable for driving positive brand awareness and brand affinity, as well as mitigating reputational harm that are in line with the company's strategic goals and priorities under the consultation of Stericycle's leadership team. They will also track and measure the effectiveness of these programs and report on ROI/value.

The Responsibilities:

Public Relations
• Leads the development and design of new and on-going brand building and mitigation programs designed to increase awareness and build reputational trust.
• Executes comprehensive tactical brand building and reputational management programs, including detailed PR campaign project plans and critical paths.
• Develops key message platforms that support Executive Thought Leadership, Corporate and Service initiatives, driving media coverage that is appealing to business and trade media.
• Manages the integrated tactics with outside Agency partners as needed relative to advertising, partnerships, creative design, market research and other services, as well as agency management as needed.
• Coordinates and collaborates PR and Corporate Communication activities within Marketing, such as Go-to-Market, Product & Innovation, Creative, Digital, etc., as well as internal stakeholders and leadership to develop and communicate key campaigns and messaging.
• Manages the reporting and tracking of campaign activities to capitalize media coverage, audience share of voice, organic web traffic and other KPIs, in addition to the overall PR measurement program
• Acts as a brand ambassador by upholding Brand Guidelines and utilizing differentiated value propositions to showcase brand consistency and value.
• Prepares and delivers presentations to internal/external audiences on issues such as campaign planning, execution, and analysis.

Corporate & Crisis Communications
• Develops and implements appropriate communications strategies and approaches to protect and enhance reputation as crises unfold and during the time of crisis.
• Develops, manages and coordinates crisis messaging to internal and external stakeholders, while adhering to the outlined review and approvals process.
• Attends dedicated crisis/issues management meetings as required
• Manages, with the support of the PR Associate, media inquiries through media voicemail, media inbox and additional channels.
• Ongoing management of media monitoring and alert tools and processes
• Manages the Charitable Giving Program (if launched in 2022) and leads the integrated tactics and communications strategy and execution
• Fosters and supports innovation and breakthrough ideas on programs; actively generates, seeks and takes advantage of best practices and value-added solutions.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
