Account Manager Role: B2C/B2B teamMy client is looking for an ambitious and experienced Account Manager to join our fast paced and dynamic B2B, B2C & Corporate team. This is a unique role for a true team player. Account managers are key points of client contact and will need developed organisational skills in order to maintain busy activity schedules across a variety of clients, with strong client handling skills. An enthusiastic self-starter, you will also need to have a passion for storytelling and drawing out media hooks, as well as solid knowledge of the media environment, a strong network of journalist contacts and exceptional media relations skills. Media relations programmes include everything from narrative development, stakeholder engagement, executive profiling, speaker programs, and more. The successful candidate will be a crucial member of the team and responsible for supporting the senior team and confident in managing and coaching junior team members, and being part of their development. About youWe are looking for someone with proven PR experience. A variety of sector knowledge is desirable but not essential.You will be responsible for:*Managing a portfolio of clients' PR accounts within the B2B, B2C & Corporate space on a day-to-day basis*Be a key point of contact for clients*Responsible for understanding where all activity sits on an account at any moment in time*Providing commentators and product or company information to the media (newspapers, magazines, radio, television and online news sites)*Building relationships with existing and new clients*Building relationships with key media contacts that go beyond traditional media offerings to include podcasts and broadcast*Liaising with clients regarding press campaigns, creative projects and PR solutions and being the key point of contact*Dealing with the media, speaking to journalists and other members of the press*Providing innovative and creative ideas to clients that drive results*Briefing clients and updating them on campaigns*Analysing PR coverage and providing clear written reports that show the value of the campaign*Communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders*New business support - research, developing proposals and presenting to prospective clients*Managing a high level of client interactions*Contributing to the management of client budgets; overseeing the client budget development, tracking, and communications *Being actively involved in the team's new business growth; looking for opportunities for client growth *Inspiring, mentoring and motivating junior team members to ensure a highly engaged, inclusive and productive teamSkills/Experience we require:*2-3x years communications experience is essential*Experience of working in a PR agency setting is preferred*Strong media relations skills are important*Experience of working on integrated campaigns, managing experiential activity and working closely with digital and design teams*High levels of communication - both presentation, verbal, and written skills*A passion for news *A flair for creativity, strategic thinking, and innovation*Strong copywriting and marketing mastery*Commercially aware and business savvy*Good industry knowledge and experience in building influential networks*Strong project management skills - assigning activity amongst the team and keeping activity on track, on time and on budget*Outstanding organisation with an ability to manage multiple projects and portfolios*Service focused and sensitive to confidential information*A genuine passion for corporate and consumer PR and an understanding of how PR can help businesses achieve their objectives - both brand and commercial*Excellent media and influencer knowledge*Proactive attitude - focussed on exceeding client expectations*Financial management experience encompassing day-to-day finance processes and development of all project and retainer budgets and management of forecasts*A business mind-set; ability to converse with high level professionals and understand their brand inside-out - becoming their business partnerMay & Stephens Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
