Why WSA?
WSA The Communications Agency, is a full-service agency based in Milton Keynes. Launched by a female entrepreneur in 2005, we pride ourselves on combining big agency quality and resource with local agency insight and affordability.
We are all team players here. We work closely to support each other and channel our efforts into collaborative working, achieving optimum coverage for our clients in the process. A family feel may sound cliché, but it s the best way to describe the atmosphere in our office.
What s the role?
We are the resident wordsmiths, so you ll be getting involved with all kinds of content requirements. You ll have the ability to write confidently across different mediums and will effortlessly shift to different tones of voice; always putting yourself in the client s shoes and keeping individual objectives in your sights.
There is a lot more to PR than press releases, but they still make up a large part of what we do - so you ll need to understand how these are structured, what will appeal to editors and be able to demonstrate how to turn information into engaging, newsworthy copy. You ll be confident meeting with clients face-to-face (mostly on Teams) to discuss their needs and happy to conduct phone interviews with their employees from time to time.
We take full accountability for the outcomes of our work, so we ll expect you to maintain pipelines, schedules and reports on a continuous basis. You ll also be expected to work closely with our digital team and will have the opportunity to learn more about social media marketing.
Who are we looking for?
This is not an entry-level role, so we do need you to have some relevant experience. You may already be PR Account Manager looking for a fresh challenge or an Account Executive looking to take the next step in your career. Equally, you might have started a career in PR previously and now want to get a foot back in the door. We d also consider applications from candidates who have PR responsibility in an internal communications or marketing department. A genuine passion for writing and the media is essential to succeed in this role.
We d love to hear from someone who has experience writing content related to healthcare, education, logistics, local authorities, public sector or charities; but this isn t a must-have. Our client base is flexible and so are we. We produce content for all types of B2B and B2C partners, so a varied background is fine, as long as you re enthusiastic about what you do.
What we definitely need is evidence of content you have written, preferably examples that have achieved high levels of coverage in print, online or with broadcast media. You ll have a great grasp of grammar and be a good listener too. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and you ll need to be organised enough to handle multiple client requirements at once.
We ll support you completely, with a benefits package that includes:
- 25 days of holiday
- Company Pension
- Healthcare plan (after 1-year service)
