A new opportunity for a Group Media & Communications Officer has arisen at Crest Nicholson based out of our Head Office in Addlestone, Surrey.

As Group Media & Communications Officer you will provide communications support to both head office and divisional offices in order to; generate positive media coverage, manage and maintain our brand profile, enhance sales and marketing campaign performance, enhance community engagement and manage media enquiries.

The Communications team sits within the Group Sales and Marketing department that oversees and manages the Group's prospecting, marketing, sales, customer journey, brand, digital and communications activities.

A key part of this role is also to work closely with our divisional teams, supporting them with community engagement through the identification and management of community support initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Devise and implement local communication strategies across the business. Working with divisional teams to identify media opportunities to maintain brand profile in the local area and enhance sales and marketing activities
  • Preparing, writing and editing articles, press releases and case studies for distribution to media
  • Tracking, analysing and monitoring news, trends, current affairs and coverage of the organisation in the media
  • Support divisional teams with community engagement. Identify and manage community engagement opportunities
  • Support divisional teams with industry awards, supporting with the collation of information and drafting responses for submission

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist Public Relations Agency with media enquiries, acting as the go between for agency and internal teams. Reviewing all media statements from the organisation before they are issued to media
  • Responding to urgent media enquiries during unforeseen PR events or organisational crises, as required
  • Adhoc management of company social profiles - responding to comments, messages and mentions
  • Supporting internal communications as required

Essential Qualifications/Attributes

We are looking for people to join our Company who can demonstrate preferably all of the below:


  • Proven background in PR, communications and/or journalism
  • Experience within the housebuilding sector is preferred but not essential


  • Educated to degree level in relevant field or equivalent experience preferred


  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, prioritising and planning effectively
