Job Description/Requirements

What you'll be doing:

The Director will help lead IMAXs Digital Marketing and Social Media strategy and activations while coordinating with key partners including studios/exhibition as well internal stakeholders who have ambitious digital marketing goals. You will work alongside an innovative global team to explore and execute on the newest digital technologies and strategies. Sometimes this means navigating new waters, so the ability to create new workflows and remain flexible is key to success. Your entrepreneurial spirit and expertise will support our marketing platforms to generate further brand engagement and demand for all IMAXs products and services. We are looking for a seasoned leader who is not afraid to challenge the way things are being done (from the agencies we work with, to pivoting to where audiences are going)- with experience in creating the tools and transformation to accomplish the plan.

Guide and influence company-wide social media efforts by advocating and integrating across all IMAXs initiatives.?

Strategic direction and leadership of the digital team to drive key results that are aligned to company goals, initiatives and activations.

Drive and oversee the global organic social strategy and growth for the IMAX brand as well as content marketing priorities across digital marketing and social media efforts including:

Creating authentic, engaging, entertaining, and groundbreaking campaigns that target the audience we want to engage with.

- Strong point of view on creative copy and assets, experience writing and managing copy a plus

- Developing programs for our partners that make each platforms strategy unique and successful.

- Overseeing engagement strategies with fans and customers across the social landscape.

- Managing social media agency relationships and maximizing their effectiveness.

- Coordinating the social media opportunities between multiple internal IMAX teams (Film, LIVE, DTC, Technology and Corporate, etc.) and implement programs to grow our digital and social media presence.?

- Collaborating with Film Marketing Team to develop short- and long-term digital and social media goals and a roadmap that aligns with the overall business objectives.

- Cultivating relationships with select social monitoring and platform partners to support and develop IMAX brand opportunities.

- Providing thought leadership to Senior Management and regularly interact with management concerning digital and social media programs, trends, and issues impacting the IMAX brand.

- Monitoring and analyzing the competitive social media strategies and landscape.

- Overseeing all aspects of Digital Marketing Communication campaigns (ideation, creation, and execution).

Oversee IMAX mobile presence by:

- Developing ongoing updates and improvements to the mobile site.

- Managing mobile website developer on all related programs.

- Evaluating mobile traffic, including creating monthly reports and reviewing with departments and executives.

- Executing on mobile applications compatible with Apple OS and Android.

- Leveraging/extending all our marketing efforts through the mobile channel.

Manage relationships with digital ticketing partners (Fandango & Movietickets) for IMAX.com and mobile

Function as an advisor on the Intranet and Affiliates Digital to coordinate departments and ensure all interests are represented.

Ongoing evaluation and research into new tools, resources, and applications to enhance digital marketing initiatives.

Regular reporting to management of:

- Status of specific initiatives.

- Web traffic analysis, including click-through for ticket purchases and social media activity.

- Effectiveness of third-party suppliers.

- Track expenditures against budget.

Manage IMAX.com to create a distinctive user experience:

- Enable consumers to find theatres, buy tickets, see videos of new releases, etc.

- Showcase IMAX key brand benefits.?

- Implement ongoing updates/improvements to the website, including coordination between Film, Corporate, and Theatre Resources on content.

- Manage creative website vendors on IMAX.com-related programs, including weekly status calls.

- Coordinate with IT department on IMAX.com technical needs, hosting, etc.

- Ensure IMAX.com continues to fulfill the needs of investor relations and corporate communications.

What we're looking for:

Substantial social and digital marketing leadership experience within the entertainment industry

Extensive knowledge and understanding of social media and networking platforms, and a strong understanding of new media consumer behaviors and trends. Requires a mix of strong interactive, social media background and ability to tackle non-traditional marketing programs

Ability to effectively influence and gain buy-in across multiple organizational levels.

7 plus years experience in full-service agency or brand-side leading digital marketing programs

Proven track record of generating results, managing teams and collaborating with others on integrated marketing efforts in digital and social media

Extensive project management experience, ability to manage heavy workloads and rapidly shift priorities based upon the organizational needs.

Candidate must possess strong strategic and business acumen (ability to write business justification plans/codify through decks a big plus)

Strong management skills and experience leading wide-scale initiatives.

Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.

Thorough knowledge of the creative production process.

Experience working in a complex, fast-paced organization is strongly preferred.
