Your new companyHays are representing a key player in the energy sector, dedicated to planning for a sustainable future and integrating innovative solutions to meet the challenges of renewable energy integration, to recruit a Communications and Engagement Executive in Belfast. Your new roleAs Communications and Engagement Executive will support the delivery of our client's communications and engagement functions, including corporate communications, media relations, digital communications, website, events management, branding, sponsorships and CSR, internal communications and team support functions.You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Senior Communications and Engagement Lead to deliver the Communications and Engagement Strategy.
  • Developing and scheduling digital content for our client's channels.
  • Managing and updating the website.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of internal and external events and strategic stakeholder engagement.
  • Supporting the delivery of strategic partnerships and CSR events.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of the internal communications strategy including employee initiatives and newsletters.
  • Creating graphics and other digital content using a range of software packages such as Adobe InDesign, Canva and Hootsuite.
  • Attending external exhibitions and events as an ambassador for the company as required.
  • Identifying creative opportunities to grow our client's external communications and brand profile.
  • Maintaining key planners and tracking documents such as communications plans and event trackers.
  • Monitoring and reporting on digital marketing activities.
  • Other support and administration functions supporting other senior members of the team.
  • Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as requested.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A third level qualification in a related discipline (such as digital marketing, public relations, journalism; or 1 year+ experience working in a relevant communications or marketing role.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the communications industry and the various communications disciplines.
  • Passion and flair for communications and writing.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, organise work and achieve objectives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


  • Previous digital marketing experience including content creation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Proven ability to write/communicate creatively for targeted audiences.
  • Practical knowledge of digital media monitoring tools such as Hootsuite, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
